Live Labs: browser-based science labs with guided steps

Live Labs is a set of browser-based science and technology labs, built and run for our group company Live Labs. Each step has an expected result, and every lab cites its sources.

Context

Live Labs is one of our group companies, not an independent client. We built the platform and its labs, and we run them.

The problem

Many learners cannot reach a physical lab for every topic they study. Live Labs lets them practise lab methods in a browser, and check their work at each step.

What we built

  • 13[1] browser-based labs. Access is per lab.
  • 104[2] guided steps, each with an expected result, so learners can check their own work.
  • 71[3] troubleshooting entries for the problems learners most often meet.
  • 46[4] cited sources, so teachers can check the material.
  • Labs in fields we have not served commercially, such as manufacturing, finance and telecom. We label these as learning demonstrators, not client deployments.
